About The Painted Cloth

The painted cloth started as a hobby a few years ago. It became very popular with friends and relatives and it slowly developed with the demand. Today is a fully fledged company of design and manufacturing.  From the early days of painting on caftans and summer dresses, it is now covering an array of additional products including table linen, children’s outfits, throws, cushions etc. There are painted canvases that match the design of the furnishings as well so that they accentuate the design and help co-ordinate the different items.

A piece of painted textile is versatile. It could be used as a table cloth, a throw or hung like a curtain at a special window. All the painted cloth productions are hand painted and hand finished. The paints used are permanent textile paints and the designs are original and therefore unique.

The caftan as we know it is mainly worn by men in North Africa. But, different forms of caftans have been worn by many nations throughout history by men and women. It is easy to see why caftan has lasted so long. It is comfortable, light and stylish.  For women specially, it creates a subtle and sensuous outline as it falls over the curves of the body flatteringly, particularly when moving.

It is easy to pack or to store or transport. It could be worn in the evening or in daytime; it could be dressed up or down.  It could be sexy or demure, wild or conservative, the possibilities are endless.
